Shared Services

The purpose of this survey is to explore the viability of a shared services cooperative in Northeast Wisconsin. Understanding the needs of your organization is the first step in this process.

A cooperative is a type of organization governed democratically by member-owners to their mutual benefit. A shared services cooperative allows members to combine their demand and resources to share specialists, purchase materials in bulk, or make investments.

Many tasks required for the day-to-day operations of small organizations do not add up to a full-time role. Operating without full-time specialists can be time-consuming and potentially risky. These tasks can also distract from the core strengths that makes an organization unique and valuable to its community or customers.

With a shared services cooperative, organizations can combine similar tasks to hire passionate and dedicated specialists, allowing members to focus on the core strengths that make them unique.

Do what you do best, cooperate on the rest.

The services that a cooperative could offer depend on the needs of potential members. Insurance, finance, legal, IT, purchasing, and recruiting are some examples. This survey will provide the data needed to determine which services are explored first.
